Service A at Mercedes-Benz of Oakland

A 10,000-mile check-in we call Service A. This is when our expertly trained technicians not only perform a comprehensive, step-by-step vehicle inspection, but replace certain key parts with Genuine Mercedes-Benz Parts.



'A' Service

  • Service at 10,000 miles or 1 year
  • Synthetic motor oil replacement
  • Oil filter replacement
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle's year and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter

A-Service (1998 and later models)


INTERIOR
- Check warning and indicator lamps, illumination and interior lighting

- Inspect windshield wipers, windshield washer system and refill if needed

- Reset maintenance service counter

WHEEL & BRAKES
- Check condition/thickness of front and rear brake pads and rotors

- Check tires for damage and wear

- Measure tread depth
- Correct tire inflation pressure and reset TPC counter if applicable
- Correct tire inflation pressure in spare tire 

ENGINE COMPARTMENT
- Perform visual inspection of engine compartment
- Check and replenish all other fluid levels
- Change engine oil and filter
- Check engine cooling system, antifreeze and corrosion protection
- Check hydraulic portion of brake system
- Check Active Body Control (ABC)
- Check battery condition and service if necessary
- Visually inspect trunk release catch and hinges
- Check condition of Poly-V belt and other belts

Service B at Mercedes-Benz of Oakland

Service B is when our highly skilled technicians do what they do best. With comprehensive training under their belts, as well as the use of the latest diagnostic tools and tests, they can help make certain that your Mercedes-Benz vehicle is running at optimal performance.


'B' Service

  • Synthetic motor oil replacement
  • Oil filter replacement
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle's year and model.
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.

B-Service (1998 and later models)

INTERIOR
- Check warning and indicator lamps, illumination and interior lighting

- Replace windshield wipers 
- Inspect windshield washer system and refill if needed

- Check seatbelts and buckles
- Reset maintenance service counter
- Replace cabin filter (except on SLK and R-class models)
- Function test parking brake

WHEEL & BRAKES
- Check condition/thickness of front and rear brake pads and rotors

- Check tires for damage and wear

- Measure tread depth
- Correct tire inflation pressure and reset TPC counter if applicable
- Correct tire inflation pressure in spare tire 

UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE
-Visually inspect for fluid leaks
-Visually inspect front axle ball joints and rubber boots for play
-Check condition of mechanical steering compartments and rubber boots

ENGINE COMPARTMENT
-Perform visual inspection of engine compartment
-Check and replenish all other fluid levels
-Change engine oil and filter
-Check engine cooling system, antifreeze and corrosion protection
-Check hydraulic portion of brake system
-Check power steering for fluid level and leaks
-Check Active Body Control (ABC)
-Check battery condition and service if necessary
-Visually inspect trunk release catch and hinges
-Check condition of Poly-V belt and other belts
*(Additional maintenance items are required at 2 year, 3 year and 60,000 mile intervals)

 

Brake Fluid Service (recommended every 2 years)

Flush all moisture and contaminated fluid from each brake caliper and master cylinder

 

Coolant System Service (recommended every 3 years on most models)

Pressure test the system for leaks in the cooling system and cap. Inspect the cooling system hoses, freeze plugs and radiator for deterioration. Drain and refill system with Mercedes-Benz approved antifreeze/coolant.   

 

Transmission Service (recommended every 4 years)

Change oil with Mercedes-Benz synthetic based transmission oil. Replace filter and transmission pan gasket. Road test for shift patterns and adapt on board computer when applicable.

 

Air Condition Service

Evacuate and recharge air conditioning system, clean condenser inlets, water drain and inspect for leaks.
